Access to the falls themselves is easy on foot, and the resort connects to the wider Fallsview tourist district by covered walkway, which matters in the colder months.

River Rock sits on the Fraser River in Richmond, just south of Vancouver, with its own marina attached. The waterfront position and the pier give the hotel a distinct character among properties of its type.
It functions largely as an airport hotel of the better sort — Vancouver International is minutes away, and the Canada Line station outside the door reaches downtown Vancouver in about twenty. Rooms, restaurants, a theatre and conference facilities make up the bulk of the resort; a gaming floor operates alongside them.
Richmond's Golden Village, known for its concentration of Chinese restaurants and night markets, is close by and worth the short walk.

Casino Rama stands on the lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation in Ontario's cottage country, near Orillia and Lake Couchiching. It is owned by the First Nation, and that ownership is reflected throughout the property.
The hotel side offers several hundred rooms, a spa, a spread of restaurants and a large entertainment venue that has hosted touring musicians for decades. A gaming floor sits within the complex.
The surrounding area is lake country — a couple of hours north of Toronto, busy in summer, and quiet enough in the off season that the resort becomes a destination in its own right.
