Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort
Saariselkä, FinlandKakslauttanen lies in Finnish Lapland, well north of the Arctic Circle near Saariselkä, and it is best known for the glass igloos that let guests watch the sky from a warm bed. Snow igloos and traditional log cabins are also part of the resort.
Winter is the season the place is built around. Nights are long, the aurora is a genuine possibility on clear evenings, and the resort runs husky and reindeer excursions, snowshoeing and a smoke sauna.
Summer changes it entirely — continuous daylight, forest, and a quieter kind of stay. Most visitors come for the cold half of the year, and the resort's scale and remoteness are part of what they are paying for.
